¡Hola a todos! El lunes 20 de julio, de 19h a 21h, regresa nuestro encuentro mensual para hispanohablantes en los campos del arte y la tecnología. Para esta edición contaremos con un invitado especial: el cineasta y montajista cubano Héctor Almeida, cuya práctica se expande hacia los videojuegos.
Héctor hablará sobre crear arte y videojuegos desde Cuba en medio de una crisis política, social y económica. A partir de su art-game autobiográfico "The Boy Aflame Who Couldn't Fly" y de su experiencia organizando la Queer Communist Game Jam, reflexionará sobre cómo los videojuegos, los archivos, la memoria familiar y la infancia queer pueden convertirse en herramientas de narración personal y política, así como sobre los desafíos de construir espacios creativos independientes en condiciones de escasez e inestabilidad.
Como siempre, este espacio está pensado para conversar, conectar y seguir tejiendo redes entre quienes trabajamos en arte y tecnología en español <3

Hi everyone! On Monday, July 20, from 7 to 9pm, our monthly gathering for Spanish speakers in the fields of art and technology returns. For this edition, we'll have a special guest: Cuban filmmaker and film editor Héctor Almeida, whose practice is expanding into video games.
Héctor will speak about creating art and games from Cuba amid a political, social, and economic crisis. Through his autobiographical art-game "The Boy Aflame Who Couldn't Fly" and his experience organizing the Queer Communist Game Jam, he'll reflect on how video games, archives, family memory, and queer childhood can become tools for personal and political storytelling, as well as the challenges of building independent creative spaces under conditions of scarcity and instability.
As always, this space is designed for conversation, connection, and continuing to weave networks among those of us working in art and technology in Spanish <3
Cómo encontrarnos
Nuestro estudio, Make-Believe Studio, se encuentra en ACUD KUNST HAUS (Veteranenstr. 21, 10119 Berlín). Para asistir a cualquiera de nuestros eventos, entra por las grandes puertas rojas situadas a la derecha, pasando los buzones. Al salir hacia el patio interior (*Hinterhof*), gira a la izquierda; verás el ascensor a mano izquierda. Sube hasta la quinta planta. :)
To Find Us
Our Make-Believe Studio space is located at ACUD KUNST HAUS (Veteranenstr. 21, 10119 Berlin). To attend any of our events, go thru the big red doors on the right side past the mailboxes. Take a left once you exit towards the hinterhof. Then turn left and you will see the elevator there on your left. Take it to the 5th floor. :)
